
Nicki Shamel has been appointed as the new head of TuneCore’s U.S. operations, the company announced today.
In her new role, Shamel will oversee a team focused on artist acquisition and development in the country, aiming to help independent artists build successful careers through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships. This critical task includes aligning the platform’s artist success and DSP (Digital Service Provider) partnerships teams to better serve artists more effectively.
Shamel brings extensive experience to this position having previously worked at AWAL as Senior VP for seven years, where she developed a global commercial partnerships team and spearheaded digital marketing efforts, fostering the careers of notable acts such as Laufey, Jungle, and Little Simz. Prior to that, she held international marketing and sales roles at Sony Music for nearly seven years.
Before joining TuneCore, Shamel served as Senior VP at AWAL, where she managed the global commercial partnerships team and led digital marketing initiatives, aiding the careers of notable acts including Laufey, Jungle, and Little Simz. Earlier in her career, she worked in digital marketing roles at Primary Wave Music.
As Shamel begins her new chapter at TuneCore, she will be based out of New York and report to Chief Revenue Officer Brian Miller.
