
Solana Block Capacity Rises 66% with SIMD-0286 Upgrade
In a significant development, the Solana blockchain has announced a substantial upgrade to its block capacity, effectively increasing it by a whopping 66%. The upgrade, referred to as SIMD-0286, is designed to provide a massive boost in computing power and efficiency for the network.
Solana’s core developers have submitted this proposal, which aims to raise the network’s per-block compute limit from an existing 60 million units to 100 million. This increase will enable the blockchain to accommodate larger transaction volumes within the same timeframe, further solidifying its position as a top-tier platform in the crypto market.
It is essential for Solana to address the “compute budget exceeded” errors that have been affecting high-intensity applications such as decentralized exchanges (DEXs), MEV auctioneers, restaking protocols, and NFT mints.
