Elon Musk has responded to President Donald Trump’s recent peace offering with a sharp tongue-lashing, dismissing the former reality TV star’s claims as baseless and false.
According to reports, Trump had taken to his Truth Social platform to assert that he does not intend to destroy any of Elon’s businesses. In his post, Trump claimed that he wants Elon and all American businesses to “THRIVE”, which is a stark contrast to the actions taken by the previous administration.
However, Musk was having none of it, taking to his own social media platform X to swiftly debunk Trump’s claims. In a scathing response, Musk accused Trump of being dishonest about the subsidies in question. He claimed that these ‘subsidies’ do not exist and instead asserted that Trump had already taken steps to eliminate sustainable energy support while leaving massive oil and gas subsidies untouched.
Musk also went on to explain the NASA contracts won by SpaceX, stating that these were secured through a competitive bidding process where they delivered better value for less money. He added that moving those contracts to other aerospace companies would leave astronauts stranded and put taxpayers at risk of paying twice as much.
It is not yet clear what sparked Trump’s sudden change in tone or if he was genuinely trying to make amends with Elon Musk.
