Phil Collins Is in Hospital for Surgery, Not in Hospice, Rep Confirms
British music legend Phil Collins is in the hospital due to a recent knee operation, not in hospice care as previously rumored online, according to his representative.
Rumors surrounding the 73-year-old singer and drummer’s health have been circulating on social media platforms, with some claiming that he had entered end-of-life care. However, this notion has been officially dispelled by Collins’ team.
While concerns about Collins’ well-being have been ongoing, it appears that his recent hospitalization is a direct result of his knee surgery, which has sparked widespread worry among fans and fellow musicians alike.
As part of his recent health issues, Collins has been open about his medical struggles. In 2024, the rock star released a documentary titled Phil Collins: Drummer First, in which he discussed the impact his spinal injury in 2007 had on his life and career.
It is worth noting that Collins has officially retired from performing with Genesis since 2022 following a seated farewell concert, where he was joined by longtime bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks.
