Eddie Howe Admits Alexander Isak’s Future is “Not in My Full Control” But Stresses There Has Been No Offer from Liverpool
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has admitted that he has no influence over the future of star striker Alexander Isak, stating that it’s “not in my full control”. However, he did stress that there have been no approaches or offers for the player from rival club Liverpool.
Isak has been subject to intense speculation over his future at St. James’ Park after a brilliant debut season with the Magpies, where he scored 17 goals and helped the team secure promotion to the Premier League.
The Swede’s incredible form has caught the attention of many top clubs in Europe, including Liverpool, who are said to be keen on signing him. However, Howe has downplayed any rumors linking Isak to Anfield, stating that there have been no official offers or approaches for the player.
“I think it’s important to clarify that there has not been an offer from Liverpool, and I’m confident in saying that,” Howe told reporters. “As a manager, you can’t control these things, and Alexander’s future is not in my full control.”
The 23-year-old forward had a phenomenal first season with the Magpies, helping them achieve promotion to the Premier League.
