Hatebreed’s Longtime Bassist Sues Band Over Ouster, Claiming Frontman Ejected Him Out of Greed
Chris Beattie, the founding bassist of Hatebreed, has filed a lawsuit against his former bandmates and fellow co-founder Jamey Jasta over his sudden dismissal from the metalcore group. According to the legal complaint, Beattie is alleging that he was ejected from the band due to greed, as Jasta stands to gain more financially now that he’s no longer part of the organization.
The lawsuit claims that Jasta had become increasingly secretive about the financial dealings of Hatebreed in recent years, with Beattie suspecting that he was not being paid his full 25% share of the band’s profits. The document goes on to state that Jasta would not allow Beattie access to the band’s financial records.
Beattie, who had been a part of Hatebreed since its inception in 1994, says his termination has severely impacted his career, reputation, and overall well-being.
