The 34-year-old artist took to Instagram Story to share the news with her fans, revealing that she’s been dealing with “vocal challenges” and has been advised by doctors to have the procedure as soon as possible.
In a heartfelt post, Taylor expressed her disappointment and frustration at having to cancel some upcoming appearances, including an appearance on Michelle Obama’s podcast. However, she reassured fans that her album rollout will not be impacted, and her forthcoming Escape Room project is still scheduled for release on August 22.
“I’ve been quietly dealing with some vocal challenges for a while now,” Taylor wrote. “And after a lot of back-and-forth with my doctors, I’ve been told I need vocal surgery immediately.”
Taylor also thanked her fans for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout her career, stating that she will return to music with an even stronger and more determined artist.
“I don’t take lightly what it means to show up for y’all,” Taylor emphasized. “I’ve poured so much of myself into this next chapter—especially the Escape Room—which is still dropping August 22! So no worries there.”
The highly anticipated album, Escape Room, will feature 22 tracks, including her previously released singles and skits from Issa Rae and Lala Anthony.
