Selena Gomez Recalls How She & Taylor Swift First ‘Bonded’ Over Their Jonas Brother Breakups
In a candid conversation on the podcast Therapuss, Rare Beauty founder Selena Gomez opened up about the genesis of her unbreakable bond with global superstar Taylor Swift. The pop sensation recalled that the two singers first connected over their shared experiences with the Jonas Brothers.
Gomez, who was 15 at the time, revealed that she and Swift, then 18, found solace in each other after the breakdowns from their respective relationships with Joe and Nick Jonas, members of the famous Disney Channel stars-turned-pop-rockers. “We all know and love each other now,” Gomez chuckled, “but we didn’t know what we were doing back then.”
The Wizards of Waverly Place alum revealed that despite initially bonding over their shared heartbreaks, they have since grown closer as a result of sticking together through the highs and lows that life has brought. The unlikely friendship between Swift and Gomez transcended their initial connection over the Jonas Brothers.
