TTRPG Comic ‘Die’ Returns for Another Session
Comic book writer Kieron Gillen and artist Stephanie Hans are reuniting to bring back the dark fantasy world of “Die” with a brand new sequel, titled “Die: Loaded.” The highly acclaimed comic series originally concluded in 2021, but the creative team has decided to pick up where they left off and continue the story.
The second part of the series promises to explore the culture of tabletop gaming, offering a unique take on the genre. Gillen described the new book as having “a completely different group dynamic at its heart.” The storyline will delve into themes such as con culture and the role-playing game world, featuring a pair of gods that represent both a good DM (game master) and a bad one. Additionally, the comic will include an isekai piss take, which fans have been eagerly anticipating.
The announcement also includes some exciting news for “Die” RPG enthusiasts. Gillen hinted at introducing material in the comic that will be used to inform future updates to the game mechanics, giving players more control over their adventures and characters. Moreover, he plans on releasing an open license in the near future, allowing designers to create and sell their own supplements and adventures, as well as build original games using “Die” RPG’s mechanical engine.
The first issue of “Die: Loaded” is set to be released on November 12, offering fans a chance to jump back into the world of “Die.”
