I recently had the opportunity to review the Motorola Razr Ultra, and I must say, it’s a game-changer in the world of foldables. The phone boasts impressive specifications, including a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
In my testing, I found that this device performed better than any other flip foldable I’ve tested, even matching the performance levels of flagship candy-bar phones like the OnePlus 13 and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This is a significant achievement for Moto, as they’re not only setting a new standard for flip foldables but also showcasing their expertise in AI capabilities.
One area where the Razr Ultra truly shines is its camera system. While there are no major upgrades to the main cameras, I was pleased to see the upgrade to a 50MP inner-screen selfie camera, which matches other top-tier devices. The phone’s portrait mode is one of the best I’ve ever used, and it looks extremely natural.
I also appreciated the inclusion of Snapdragon Sound for high-quality Bluetooth audio and support for Dolby Vision and Atmos for excellent video recording and playback. This means you can enjoy music or videos for extended periods without worrying about battery life.
Speaking of which, the Razr Ultra’s 4700mAh battery is a significant improvement over last year’s model and even rivals some non-flip devices. It’s also worth noting that charging has been significantly improved to almost 20% more than the previous generation.
In terms of AI capabilities, I was impressed by the phone’s ability to control other devices like earbuds or smartwatches seamlessly. This is a significant leap forward for Moto and showcases their commitment to creating an integrated ecosystem.
While some may argue that the higher price point ($1,299) justifies the difference in cost, it’s hard not to be impressed by the sheer number of advancements Motorola has made with this device. They’re setting a new standard for the industry, and I believe this will have a lasting impact on the market.
As an analyst, I’m excited to see how Moto chooses to move forward with their AI capabilities. Their partnership with Pantone is also quite intriguing, offering unique colors and materials that truly make this phone stand out from the competition.
