YoungBoy Never Broke Again Faces Lawsuit Over Merchandise Ahead of Tour
Rap sensation YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been hit with a lawsuit from his merchandise partner, Westside Merchandising, just weeks before he embarks on his highly anticipated MASA tour.
As reported by Billboard, the rapper and his label, Never Broke Again, are accused of breaching their contract with Westside due to several alleged infractions. The main issue at hand is YoungBoy’s decision to terminate their partnership agreement, citing “poor performance” from the company as the reason for doing so.
According to court documents, Westside claims that they had already invested heavily in promoting YoungBoy’s merchandise and had secured lucrative partnerships with major retailers to sell his apparel. Despite this, YoungBoy allegedly sent them a letter announcing he was canceling their agreement just weeks before the MASA tour, which is set to kick off on September 1.
Westside alleges that this move is an attempt by YoungBoy to circumvent his contractual obligations and instead partner with another company to handle merchandise sales at the upcoming shows. This new partnership, according to the lawsuit, would result in a significant financial gain for YoungBoy, but would also infringe upon Westside’s rights as the original merch partner.
The plaintiff is seeking a court order to confirm their right to handle merchandise sales at the MASA tour and is also demanding compensation for damages incurred due to YoungBoy’s alleged breach of contract.
