The Australian music industry celebrated the biggest night in their calendar, as the 2025 ARIA Awards came to a close. While some acts left with multiple accolades, others were left disappointed, and some surprises were evident throughout the evening.
Among the snubs, none were more shocking than Hilltop Hoods’ absence of wins despite five nominations. The Australian hip-hop group, known for their energetic live performances and chart-topping hits, have won a total of 10 ARIA Awards in their illustrious career. However, it seemed that this year wasn’t their night, as they failed to take home any awards.
On the other end of the spectrum, Amyl and The Sniffers took home four awards, including the coveted album of the year prize for “Cartoon Darkness”. This was a groundbreaking achievement for the punk rock outfit, with Taylor Amy ruling at Glastonbury festival and scoring nominations at both the Grammys and Brit Awards. It’s safe to say that this win will be remembered by them as the year their lives changed.
Ninajirachi dominated the night, securing three awards and becoming an overnight sensation in the making, a decade-long journey culminating in her breakthrough artist award and further solidifying her position in the music scene. The EDM artist has won numerous accolades already this year, including the Australian Music Prize and triple j’s J Award for “I Love My Computer”.
