
System of a Down is gearing up to bring their high-energy show to fans in South America with the announcement of their 2025 “Wake Up!” stadium tour dates.
The Armenian-American heavy metal band has been on hiatus since 2013, but they have been making up for lost time with a series of reunion shows and festivals. Their latest tour announcements are a testament to the enduring popularity of their unique blend of alternative metal and hard rock.
“We’re thrilled to share this incredible news with our fans in South America,” said System of a Down’s lead vocalist Serj Tankian in an exclusive statement to Billboard Pro. “Our ‘Wake Up!’ tour has been a massive success, and we can’t wait to bring the show to new cities and countries.”
The tour is set to kick off on March 20th, 2025, in Santiago, Chile at Estadio Nacional de Chile, before making stops in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Estadio Alberto J. Armando, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil at Maracanã Stadium, and Lima, Peru at Estadio Monumental Villa El Salvador.
The tour is expected to be a high-energy, visually stunning experience that will feature all the band’s greatest hits, as well as some new material from their latest album “Mezmerize.”
“We’re going all out with this tour,” said guitarist Daron Malakian in an interview. “We want to give our fans an unforgettable experience that showcases the full range of our music and energy.”
Tickets for the South American leg of the tour will be available starting December 1st, 2024.
It’s worth noting that System of a Down has been teasing their return to the live stage with cryptic messages and social media posts in recent months. The band has also hinted at working on new music and collaborating with other artists.
As fans eagerly await more updates from the band, they can get ready to rock out with some of the most iconic songs in rock history, including “Chop Suey!”, “Question!”, and “B.Y.O.B.”
