Sir Keir Starmer is reportedly facing the possibility of a massive rebellion within his own party as Labour MPs are said to be furious over the party’s handling of the WASPI (Women Against State Pension Inequality) campaign.
According to sources, several Labour MPs are considering voting against Sir Keir in the next leadership election or even quitting the party altogether if he fails to take immediate action to address the situation. This comes after allegations emerged that some Labour councillors had publicly insulted and belittled WASPI women, who were fighting for their rights.
As the leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer is expected to take a stronger stance in supporting the women affected by the pension age changes. However, his failure to do so has left many feeling betrayed and disheartened.
It remains to be seen whether this rebellion will come to pass or if the Labour Party can still recover from these events.
