Title: “Around the World with IEEE: Reflections on Recent Trips and Accomplishments”
As I reflect on my recent travels for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. My latest adventures took me to Singapore, Japan, New Jersey, San Francisco, Bologna, and Milan, where I represented IEEE in various capacities.
Firstly, it was an honor to participate in events at IEEE’s headquarters in Singapore. The city-state has become a hub for innovation and technological advancements, and it was fascinating to witness the convergence of ideas and people from all over the world.
From there, I traveled to Japan, where I had the privilege of engaging with the local IEEE community. It was heartening to see the strong enthusiasm and dedication of members towards promoting the advancement of technology for humanity’s betterment.
My next destination was New Jersey, where I attended an event to recognize Gary Hoffman as a recipient of the Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award at the IEEE Standards award ceremony. This recognition is truly fitting, given his remarkable contributions to the field.
