Village Councillor Steps Down Amid Harassment Claims
A village councillor has stepped down from her position after being targeted by a “poison pen” style newsletter that left her feeling harassed and bullied. The anonymous publication, which resembles the popular Netflix series “Baby Reindeer,” began circulating in the community, making claims about the councillor’s personal life.
The councillor, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed in an interview that she had been bombarded with the newsletter for months, and it took a toll on her mental health. She felt unable to continue serving in her role as a councillor due to the constant barrage of negative information.
“I was being attacked from all sides,” she said. “I couldn’t take it anymore. I didn’t want to be a target for this kind of harassment.”
Following her resignation, the councillor revealed that she has had to move away from the village in order to escape the constant attention and negativity surrounding her.
“I’ve had to leave my home and start anew,” she said. “I’m trying to focus on myself and rebuild my life.”
This incident highlights the importance of anonymity and respect for public figures, particularly those who serve their communities.
