Mario Explains How Performing as The Wasp on ‘The Masked Singer’ Was ‘Challenging’

In a recent interview, Mario, known for his performance as The Wasp on Fox’s “The Masked Singer,” opened up about the challenges he faced while portraying the buzzing insect.
“It was challenging,” Mario admitted. “Not only did I have to wear this heavy costume and maintain my character throughout the entire competition, but I also had to rely solely on my voice to convey emotions.”
Mario emphasized that his experience as The Wasp was unlike anything he had previously done, which made it even more demanding.
“As an entertainer, I’m used to being able to express myself through multiple means – dance, acting, music. But here, I had to be limited to just my vocals,” he explained. “It forced me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to grow as a performer.”
Despite the obstacles, Mario’s dedication to his craft paid off, as he ultimately finished in third place on the show.
Mario added that performing as The Wasp also allowed him to tap into a different side of himself, which was unexpected but rewarding.
“I have to admit, I never thought I’d be singing in a bee costume,” he laughed. “But the more I got into character, the more it became liberating. It’s funny how something that can initially feel so restrictive can end up being so empowering.”
Mario’s comments come ahead of his upcoming projects, which include a new album and a nationwide tour.
