In just 4 months AI coding assistant Cursor raised another $100M at a $2.5B valuation led by Thrive, sources say
Cursor, the developer of an AI-powered coding assistant, has secured another significant funding round in a very short span of time. According to sources with knowledge of the deal, the company has managed to raise an additional $100 million at a post-money valuation of $2.5 billion.
This latest funding comes just four months after Cursor’s previous Series A round, which brought in $60 million and valued the company at $400 million. The new investment is being led by Thrive Capital, the same investor that participated in the earlier funding.
The rapid growth and massive fundraising in such a short period indicate a significant interest from investors in Anysphere, the parent company of Cursor, to back the AI coding tool. It is no surprise then that some of these investors have been falling over themselves to get in on this deal.
