
Robert Eggers Wants You to See His Nosferatu As Both a Lover and a Biter
In his latest film, The Last Thing Mary Saw, writer-director Robert Eggers proved that he can craft atmospheric horror stories with ease. Now, with his take on F.W. Murnau’s classic vampire tale, Nosferatu, Eggers is pushing the boundaries of what we expect from the genre once again.
In an interview, Eggers discussed how he approached this version of Ellen, a character who winds up being instrumental in Count Dracula’s demise. He wanted her to be a woman who “understands things on a very deep level, but doesn’t have the language to articulate her experiences.”
