Major Company Negotiating Bitcoin Proposal: Report
Despite Microsoft’s rejection of a proposal to invest in bitcoin, a major company is reportedly negotiating a similar proposal.
According to reports, the NCPPR (National Center for Public Policy Research) is preparing to file more proposals that would require companies to consider investing in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. This comes after Microsoft shareholders overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to allocate 5% of their assets to Bitcoin.
However, the NCPPR seems unfazed by this defeat and plans to continue pushing for the adoption of cryptocurrency investment by major corporations. The think tank claims it has not received any financial contributions from any cryptocurrency-focused groups, and its efforts are driven solely by its commitment to promoting economic freedom.
Meanwhile, Michael Saylor, co-founder of MicroStrategy, a company that has already allocated a significant portion of its assets to Bitcoin, stated that he did not expect major corporations to instantly buy into the idea of investing in cryptocurrencies. However, he believes that Bitcoin will eventually become part of the conversation.
As reported by U.Today, over 99% of Microsoft shareholders voted against assessing bitcoin investing, citing concerns about volatility and lack of regulatory clarity.
