What to Watch This Weekend: New Shows and Movies to Stream on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV and More
It’s time for your weekly dose of streaming recommendations! As we approach the holiday season, I’m excited to share some new releases and updates from various platforms. Let’s dive in!
**Movies**
* Anora (VOD): If you haven’t already, check out this new release by director Sean Baker, whose previous work includes the powerful “The Florida Project.” This film looks like a wild ride, with an intriguing premise and impressive visuals.
* Carry-On (Netflix): I recently reviewed this Christmas-themed thriller, which is more than just your average holiday flick. It’s engaging, entertaining, and worth your time.
**TV Shows**
* Dune: Prophecy (Max): Unfortunately, the series comes to an end this Sunday, but if you’re already invested in the story, it might be worth wrapping up the narrative.
* Secret Level (Prime Video): The latest drop of episodes is a mixed bag, with some great installments and others feeling lacking. Overall, the quality varies greatly.
* Dexter: Original Sin (Paramount): If you’re a fan of the original series or enjoyed “New Blood,” it’s worth giving this new take a shot.
* Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (Disney+): The fourth episode is out now, and I’m happy to report that Jude Law has won me over. His character’s adventures are a highlight of the show.
* Shrinking (Apple TV): If you’re like me and haven’t finished the latest season yet, there’s no time like the present! What a fantastic show.
**Other Notable Releases**
* Landman (Paramount+): Catch up on this new episode as part of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spin-off series.
* Silo (Apple TV): I’m still enjoying the second season, but it might be worth your while to binge a few episodes to get back in the groove.
**Christmas Movie Recommendations**
While there aren’t many holiday-themed options available right now, Carry-On is definitely worth checking out. If you have any favorite Christmas movies or want more suggestions, feel free to reach me on Twitter, Instagram, Bluesky, or Facebook!
