Here’s Everything That’s Coming In The ‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe
The highly anticipated patch 0.16.0 is just around the corner for Escape From Tarkov, and with it comes a major wipe. As fans eagerly await the changes coming to the game, Forbes has compiled an exhaustive list of what you can expect in this latest update.
Firstly, all players will be starting from scratch once again, as their progress will reset unless they are participating in the PvE mode. This is not unique to this patch and serves as a reminder that Tarkov’s team is working hard on building an exciting new experience for its players.
On the plus side, the update does bring some significant changes to the game. In particular, it seems that a rocket launcher will be making an appearance in the form of the RPG-26. This weapon appears to be designed primarily for taking out the BTR that roams maps like streets and woods, giving players more options in their arsenal.
Another notable addition is the Sako TRG M10 bolt action rifle, which packs .388 Lapua ammo and promises to pack a significant punch. Additionally, it has been confirmed that an MCX submachine gun will be joining the ranks of available weapons; although other unconfirmed rumors have surfaced, this one seems certain.
Moving on to the maps, the Customs map is due for a massive rework. The goal behind this change is to make the area feel more like a real place, with visual updates and new areas to explore. Specifically, players will soon be able to access a previously inaccessible warehouse located between fortress and mechanic’s shop in the middle of the map.
However, perhaps the most talked-about change coming in 0.16.0 is the recoil system. Nikita has assured fans that this change is purely visual and aimed at enhancing the overall aesthetic of the game. While some may be skeptical about this addition, it’s important to remember that any improvements made to the visuals can only be a good thing.
Lastly, the patch will also include an engine upgrade to Unity 2022. This update has been a long time coming and is expected to allow the Tarkov team greater control over certain areas of the game in the future. Although changes may not be immediately noticeable at first glance, this new technology holds great potential for adding new systems that were previously impossible.
As we eagerly await the release of patch 0.16.0, it’s clear that there is much to look forward to in the latest update from Tarkov.
