**Here’s Everything That’s Coming In The ‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe**
The latest information from Forbes reveals a significant update is coming to the popular survival game Escape From Tarkov. The highly anticipated patch, 0.16.0, will be accompanied by a game-wide wipe of all player data, effectively resetting progress for each player.
According to the report, one of the most notable additions is the introduction of new weapons to the game. This includes a rocket launcher, known as the RPG-26, which will focus primarily on eliminating the BTR that roams maps like streets and woods. It’s likely it can also take out other PMCs, or player-controlled mercenaries.
Furthermore, players will gain access to a massive new sniper rifle called the Sako TRG M10 bolt action rifle, featuring .388 Lapua ammunition and substantial stopping power.
Additionally, an MCX submachine gun is confirmed to be included in this patch. However, it’s unclear whether any other weapon updates are planned.
The Customs map is also slated for a significant rework, transforming it into a more realistic and immersive environment. This will involve visual changes aimed at adding variety to the area as well as introducing new regions to explore. The update aims to replicate the real-life equivalent of a warehouse in one corner of the map.
Another notable change is the introduction of a new recoil system designed to enhance gameplay visuals. While it’s unclear how players will react to this change, it could potentially be a significant improvement if executed correctly.
Finally, the game’s underlying engine is being upgraded from Unity 2018 to Unity 2022. Although initial differences may not be immediately noticeable, this upgrade will grant the development team increased control over specific aspects of the game and the ability to introduce new systems that were previously impossible.
The community is eagerly awaiting the arrival of these updates, which promises a fresh start for all players affected by the wipe.
