“Escape From Tarkov’ Twitch Drops Set To Return For Winter Wipe”
Battlestate Games has recently announced a new Twitch Drops campaign for Escape From Tarkov to celebrate the upcoming winter wipe. The drops are set to start on December 30, 2024 and will conclude on January 8, 2025.
The recent announcement was made via the official Escape From Tarkov social media channels, where it was stated that viewers can earn in-game items by watching streamers play the game on Twitch during a specific time period. This feature has been reintroduced after a hiatus earlier this year and is expected to create an exciting environment for fans of the game.
It’s worth noting that not all streamers will have drops active at all times, with those interested in participating needing to sign up and select two distinct time periods where they will offer drops on their streams. This means that viewers cannot simply AFK (stand idle) on one streamer’s channel for an extended period and expect a ton of items.
Furthermore, the performance of the streamers themselves during gameplay will also impact the quality of the Twitch Drops provided to viewers. If the participating streamers collectively complete specific in-game goals, their drops for the subsequent day will be upgraded, potentially leading to more valuable rewards such as bitcoin, graphics cards, and new weapons that are set to be released with the upcoming 0.16 patch.
As usual, those interested in earning these Twitch Drops must have a copy of Escape From Tarkov linked with their Twitch account. This can be done by visiting the game’s website and selecting the Twitch linking option.
Once linked, viewers can tune into an Escape From Tarkov stream that has enabled drops and claim their rewards through the Twitch inventory system after they unlock.
It appears that the timing of these drops suggests a winter wipe is imminent, with bugs typically needing to be fixed before the feature goes live. Based on previous patterns, it’s likely that this wipe will occur on December 26, but an official announcement from Battlestate Games has yet to be made.
In related news, a separate Twitch Drops campaign for Escape From Tarkov Arena has been announced, set to take place from January 4-8.
