Tesla Superchargers: GM, Ford, Rivian, and other EV brands with access
In a significant development for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, several major automakers have gained access to Tesla’s vast network of Supercharger stations. This move has opened up new possibilities for owners of General Motors’, Ford, Rivian, and other vehicles to charge their cars quickly and easily.
The list of brands with access now includes:
* Hyundai: Hyundai is giving away free NACS adapters to its EV customers who purchased or leased an EV before January 31st. The company also announced that the Ioniq 9 and Genesis Electrified GV70 will come equipped with a NACS port, allowing owners to tap into Tesla’s Supercharger network.
* Rivian: The electric truck maker officially gained access to 15,000 Superchargers across North America on March 18th. As of September, the company began shipping adapters to customers automatically when they take delivery of their new vehicle. Existing owners can also receive an adapter at no cost by the end of January 2025.
* Volvo and Polestar: The Swedish brands have started offering their EV customers access to Tesla’s Supercharger network as well. This includes a free NACS adapter for new buyers of the 2025 EX90, EX40, or EC40 models. Existing owners will need to purchase an adapter at $230.
It is worth noting that the other two major American automakers, General Motors and Ford, have also gained access to Tesla’s Supercharger network through their respective NACS adapters. This move has greatly increased the options for EV owners who want to charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently.
The development comes as the EV industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace. With more companies gaining access to Tesla’s network, drivers will have greater flexibility in charging their vehicles on long trips or daily commutes.
