A devastating incident has occurred on the high seas as a passenger reportedly went overboard on a Norwegian Cruise Line voyage to the Bahamas.
According to reports, the 51-year-old man was traveling with his family on the Norwegian Epic when he mysteriously fell off the side of the ship. The incident allegedly took place at around 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
The Norwegian Epic departed from Port Canaveral, Florida on December 21 for a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage and was currently en route to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
Following the incident, cruise officials immediately notified authorities of the situation, and a search and rescue effort was swiftly implemented. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of those involved, the passenger’s disappearance remains unresolved.
In a statement, Norwegian Cruise Line expressed their deepest condolences to the man’s loved ones who were on board at the time of his disappearance. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very challenging situation,” they said.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been made publicly available, leaving many unanswered questions in its wake.
