Google CEO Says AI Model Gemini Will Be the Company’s ‘Biggest Focus’ in 2025
In a recent strategy meeting with employees, Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly emphasized that the development and scaling of the AI model Gemini will be the company’s primary focus for the upcoming year. According to CNBC, which obtained audio recordings from the December 18 meeting, Pichai stressed the importance of moving faster as a company in the face of high stakes.
While acknowledging that Google has some catching up to do in terms of AI advancements compared to other tech companies, Pichai did not mince words regarding the significance he attaches to Gemini. He described the app’s momentum as “strong,” but also acknowledged that there is still work to be done in 2025 to establish a leadership position.
Scaling Gemini on the consumer side will indeed take center stage in the company’s efforts next year, with Pichai stating that this will be Google’s biggest focus.
