Two 17-year-olds have been charged with multiple counts of assault and robbery after allegedly tying a 14-year-old boy to a tree and cutting him open in a brutal attack linked to a local gang.
According to authorities, the victim was stabbed at least eight times around his stomach, leaving him “disemboweled” and with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on December 16th at Lions Park in Everett, Washington.
The suspect’s motivation for the heinous crime stems from an altercation they had with the victim earlier this year at their school. Investigators claim that both suspects are affiliated with a local gang, which played a significant role in the attack.
One of the charged teens, Milo Canales, was previously arrested and released on bail after facing felony charges related to a robbery in Seattle last month. However, his recent arrest has resulted in his bail being set at $1 million.
Hayden Lusebrink, the second suspect, was also charged as an adult. His bond was set at $300,000, but he managed to be released from custody after posting that amount.
The victim reportedly recognized both suspects as fellow students at his high school, further emphasizing the gang-related nature of the attack.
Both Canales and Lusebrink are facing charges of first-degree assault, robbery, and kidnapping.
