North Korea has vowed to take up its “toughest” policies against the United States at a recent meeting of the country’s ruling party.
According to reports from state media outlet KCNA, top members of the Workers’ Party of Korea, including dictator Kim Jong Un, condemned ongoing partnerships between the U.S., Japan and South Korea as a “nuclear military bloc.”
This move comes amid mounting tensions with Western governments after North Korea sent troops to assist in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine this fall.
The meeting also saw leaders criticize South Korea, labeling it an “anti-communist outpost” following President Yoon Suk-Yeoul’s attempt to impose martial law earlier this month.
