Scammers Share Wallet Seed Phrases to Bait Victims
Scammers are now resorting to a new tactic in their relentless pursuit of cryptocurrency victims. In a shocking revelation, scammers have taken to publicly sharing wallet seed phrases on YouTube video comments, luring unsuspecting users into a trap.
The scammers pose as naive crypto enthusiasts, creating fake YouTube accounts and posting the seed phrase in comment sections of videos asking for help with transferring cryptocurrency from one wallet to another. This ruse aims to exploit the victim’s appetite for easy money.
It appears that the scammers’ wallets actually contain Tron-based USDT worth thousands of dollars to further entice a victim into sending some or all of this amount to another wallet. However, it is crucial to note that the provided seed phrase belongs to a multi-signature wallet, making it impossible for victims to withdraw funds.
Once the victim tries to send TRX from their own wallet to cater for transaction costs, the “small fee” actually ends up in a completely different, third wallet – and scammers profit from this.
