Tired of DeFi: Ethena’s Head of Growth Steps Down
In a shocking announcement, Seraphim Czecker, the head of growth at Ethena, has decided to step down from his position. While citing exhaustion as one of the primary reasons for his departure, Czecker also expressed his weariness with the DeFi (Decentralized Finance) sector.
On social media platform Twitter, Czecker shared the news, stating that he will be taking a break and pursuing “artistic satisfaction.” During this period, he plans to focus on exploring art, fashion, and other creative pursuits. This break is expected to last one to two months.
Czecker’s tenure at Ethena has been marked by significant success. According to reports, he played a crucial role in the protocol’s rise to prominence within the DeFi ecosystem, helping to amass a total value locked (TVL) of nearly $6 billion for USDe stablecoin issuer.
Despite his success, Czecker expressed his dissatisfaction with the sector, stating that he has been working non-stop without any real holidays and deserves some rest. He also emphasized that he has done “literally everything you could do in DeFi.”
Czecker’s resignation is a significant blow to Ethena, as he was instrumental in driving over $1 billion in DeFi partnerships during his tenure at the protocol.
