Title: Tired of DeFi: Ethena’s Head of Growth Steps Down
Ethena’s head of growth, Seraphim Czecker, has announced his departure from the protocol, citing exhaustion and a desire to pursue artistic interests. In a tweet, Czecker explained that he will be taking a break from his leadership role for one to two months to recharge and explore art, fashion, and other creative pursuits.
Czecker’s decision to step down comes as a surprise, given his pivotal role in Ethena’s rise to prominence within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. Under his guidance, USDe stablecoin issuer amassed a total value locked (TVL) of nearly $6 billion. However, Czecker emphasized that he is “tired of DeFi” and has been working non-stop without any real holidays or breaks.
“I’ve done literally everything you could do in DeFi,” Czecker stated, highlighting his exhaustion and need for self-care. It’s unclear what this means for Ethena’s future growth and development, but it’s clear that Czecker is looking to take a step back from his leadership role.
While stepping away from his leadership position, Czecker expressed gratitude towards the DeFi community and thanked everyone for their support during his tenure at Ethena.
