Bill Keeping Trans Athletes Out of Women’s Sports Will Be Heard By Congress After New Rules Package Passes
A bill aimed at ensuring biological females compete against other biological females in women’s sports that receive federal funding has been prioritized by the House, following the passage of a new rules package. The bill aims to ban transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.
The legislation stands for “truth, safety, and reality,” as stated by its proponents. It emphasizes that men have no place in women’s sports, aligning with the promises made by Republicans to protect women’s sports.
The proposed bill ensures that biological females participate against other biological females in any women’s sports sponsored or operated by a recipient of federal funding. This comes after numerous controversies involving transgender athletes competing alongside and sharing locker rooms with biological women and girls across the nation.
The Concerned Women for America (CWA) has welcomed this move, emphasizing the need for lawmakers to take immediate action to restore sanity to public policy. “No little girl should see the most powerful politicians in the world vote to put men in her locker room,” stated CWA Legislative Strategist Macy Petty. “Not in the Land of the Free. It’s cowardice and disgusting.”
Conservative advocacy group Heritage Action for America also released a statement celebrating the vote, stating that they congratulate Speaker Johnson on his re-election and look forward to working with all members of Congress to enact conservative policy wins.
Recent polls have revealed that 70% of moderate voters consider “Donald Trump’s opposition to transgender boys and men playing girls’ and women’s sports and using girls’ and women’s bathrooms” as important. Additionally, 6% reported it was the most crucial issue of all, while 44% deemed it very significant.
The bill comes after an exit poll conducted by the CWA legislative action committee.
