‘Marvel Rivals’ Sheds Light on Season 1 Battle Pass, Confirmed Changes, and New Information
Yesterday, ‘Marvel Rivals’ dropped an eleven-minute developer insight video that has set the gaming community abuzz with news about its upcoming season. The highly-anticipated release is scheduled for January 10th.
First off, the battle pass received some attention. Three legendary skins were showcased in the video – one each for Loki, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch, all fitting the vampire theme. Fans can expect double the content of the previous battle pass, with a total of ten new skins to be released. The battle pass will cost 990 lattice, or $10. Fortunately, it is possible to earn 600 lattice and 600 units by completing the entire pass.
Moreover, the video addressed some previously leaked information about nerfs (reductions in power) and buffs (increases in power). Hela and Hawkeye will no longer be as formidable forces on the battlefield, with changes taking effect. On the other hand, Wolverine and Storm are getting a boost to help them “charge into battle.” There isn’t any concrete information available yet regarding the specifics of these adjustments.
The Season 1 release also brings some significant alterations to the game’s ranking system. Upon reset and wipe, all players will automatically drop seven divisions in Ranked Play. However, this change might serve as a warning sign for incoming nerfs or buffs, as ‘Marvel Rivals’ has announced that it will post pick rates and win rates every half-season.
Other key information revealed includes the release of two heroes at launch – Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman. These characters will be duelists, with no further details on their kits available yet. The Human Torch and The Thing are also scheduled to join the fray around six weeks later, with The Thing being a vanguard and Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch operating as duelists.
