Finnish Police Seize $2.6M in Luxury Watches from Hex Founder Richard Heart
In a significant move, the Finnish police have seized over 20 luxury watches worth an estimated $2.6 million from Richard Schueler, also known as Richard Heart, the founder of cryptocurrency Hex (HEX). This drastic measure comes amid allegations of tax fraud and assault charges against Schueler.
According to reports, the seizure was conducted at a residence in Espoo, Finland, where authorities discovered the luxury items. The total value of the confiscated watches was determined based on receipts and evaluations by an expert in luxury goods.
It is worth noting that many of these watches were reportedly purchased in Finland, while others originated from the United States. Intelligence operations led to the identification of the abandoned watches.
Schueler is wanted for alleged tax evasion spanning from June 2, 2020, to April 2, 2024, with Finnish authorities estimating his unpaid taxes amount to several hundred million euros. Moreover, he faces assault charges related to an incident on February 16 and 17, 2021, where he allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old victim.
The case against Schueler has taken a new turn as Interpol issued a Red Notice for him on December 22, 2024. He is also listed among Europe’s most wanted fugitives, with detailed accusations published by authorities.
Despite his legal troubles, Richard Heart continues to actively engage on social media platforms and promotes Hex (HEX) on X and uploads content to his YouTube channel. Finnish authorities have been unable to determine his current whereabouts.
Furthermore, Schueler is also facing a lawsuit from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC filed a lawsuit in July 2023, accusing him of issuing unregistered securities through three tokens: Hex (HEX), PulseChain (PLS), and PulseX (PSLX). These tokens reportedly raised over $1 billion.
In addition to this, the SEC alleged that Schueler misused investor funds for personal purchases. Some notable acquisitions include a 555-carat diamond, luxury watches, and high-value cars.
