Former President Donald Trump was seen chatting with former President Barack Obama during the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, despite the lack of acknowledgement from other attendees.
As Fox Business reported, Trump and Obama were spotted conversing as they sat together. Meanwhile, others in attendance appeared to ignore Trump’s presence, including Hillary Clinton and Senator Kamala Harris.
The unusual display of social distancing came just hours after Trump claimed that he was “very honored” to be attending Carter’s funeral, despite the 91-year-old former president having been a vocal critic of Trump during his presidency.
In a video obtained by Fox Business, Trump could be seen sitting next to Obama as they chatted and laughed together. The two presidents were joined by other high-profile attendees, including the Clintons and Senator Harris, who all seemed to ignore Trump’s presence.
The funeral, held at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, served as a somber reminder of the passing of the longest-living president in U.S. history.
