Top Ripple Lawyer Says Gensger ‘Anti-Crypto Crusade’ Is Imploding
A top lawyer for Ripple has made a bold statement regarding the SEC’s Chair Gary Gensler, claiming that his “anti-crypto crusade” is imploding. The claim comes as Ripple continues to appeal its case against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In an interview with The Block, James K. Lee, a partner at the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery, which represents Ripple, expressed his thoughts on the current state of the crypto market.
“There is a phenomenal concurrence by Judge Bibas (p.50) that is exactly what Ripple is appealing: That old, musty dusty crusty rules from a century ago don’t work for crypto,” he said.
This statement suggests that the legal team believes the existing regulatory framework does not apply to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
