Justin Timberlake Recalls Pitching Beyoncé on ‘Single Ladies’ Male Dancer ‘SNL’ Sketch: ‘She Was Not Having It’
In a shocking revelation, Justin Timberlake has shared an intriguing anecdote about his experience pitching a concept for a Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch to none other than Queen Bey herself.
During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the former NSYNC member opened up about his attempt to convince Beyoncé to participate in a comedic skit where she would be paired with a male dancer performing a parody of her iconic hit “Single Ladies” (Put a Ring on It).
As Timberlake recounted the story, he revealed that he initially approached Queen Bey with the idea, expecting her to be receptive to his suggestion. However, things didn’t quite go as planned.
“I went up to Beyoncé and I said, ‘Hey, let’s do this sketch! We’re gonna make fun of yourself,'” Timberlake recalled. “And she was like, ‘Uh-uh, I’m not doing that.’ She was not having it.”
Despite her initial reluctance, the A-list singer eventually warmed up to the idea, agreeing to participate in the skit as long as they could find a suitable male dancer to pair with her.
“I said, ‘Let me get this right, you’re gonna be the Beyoncé and I’m gonna be the guy dancing like a fool?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, that’s what we’re gonna do.’ She got on board,” Timberlake chuckled.
