
“God-Intended Foods” Are Key to a Healthier America, Expert Says
In the wake of the FDA’s ban on red dye No. 3 in food products, nutritionist Dr. Mark Karp is urging Americans to prioritize “god-intended foods” as part of a broader effort to create a healthier nation.
Karp argues that relying on whole, unprocessed foods rather than bio-engineered or synthetic alternatives is crucial for improving the country’s overall health and well-being.
“We need to eat foods that are much closer to how God intended – from the earth, from the animals directly, and not completely reduced to non-foods,” Karp said. “I think we need to de-stigmatize that and really start to make more of a conversation around the European way, the Mediterranean way – and understanding that if it’s something we’ve been eating for hundreds of years, it’s good.”
He emphasized that simply substituting processed foods with others that may have similar nutritional profiles but are still heavily processed is not enough. Instead, Karp advocates for a more fundamental shift towards natural, unprocessed options.
“Just because [processed food] has a certain amount of protein and a certain amount of fiber, and a certain number of added vitamins and minerals, doesn’t make it healthy,” he warned.
The nutritionist also highlighted the importance of reevaluating stigmatized foods like butter, eggs, and responsibly raised red meat, which have been unfairly maligned in recent years. He argues that these foods, when sourced from reliable and sustainable sources, can be a vital part of a balanced diet.

Karp’s comments come as concern grows over the impact of processed foods on public health.
