The 35 Best and Worst Long-Haul City Breaks for Brits
Ranking by Which? Reveals Top Destinations for Travelers
In its latest report, consumer association Which? has released its annual ranking of long-haul city breaks for British travelers. The comprehensive survey reveals the world’s top destinations for a memorable trip abroad.
Coming in at number one is Cape Town, South Africa, with an impressive 94 per cent satisfaction rate. According to Which?, tourists praise the city’s “unique cultural experiences,” “breathtaking” scenery, and overall value for money.
Meanwhile, at the bottom of the list is Miami, Florida, with a dismal score of just 56 per cent. Visitors were heavily critical of the city’s inflated prices, lack of authenticity, and poor public transportation system.
Chicago takes fourth place with a score of 86 per cent, praised for its “atmospheric lakeside setting,” “pioneering skyscrapers,” and “beautiful architecture.” Singapore, Bangkok, Melbourne, and Washington D.C. round out the top five.
On the other end of the spectrum, Las Vegas scored a paltry 58 per cent, earning no more than two stars in any category. One visitor slammed the city as “fake” with “bad food” and “terrible transportation options.”
Los Angeles and Seattle also failed to impress, ranking among the worst city break destinations with scores of 62 and 64 per cent respectively.
Rory Boland, editor of Which? Travel, emphasized that top cities offer a unique combination of cultural experiences, excellent food and drink options, and competitive prices. He notes that Cape Town stands out as an exceptional value destination where travelers can get the most bang for their buck.
The full ranking is available on Which?’s website, providing valuable insights for those planning their next trip abroad.
