Murderbot’s First Trailer Shows Off Its Wry Mechanical Protagonist
Apple TV+ has just dropped the first trailer for its upcoming sci-fi comedy series “Murderbot,” and it’s a wild ride. Based on Martha Wells’ best-selling book series, Murderbot follows the story of a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients.
The trailer opens with Murderbot (played by Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd) watching TV when he should be protecting his teammates. But let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to binge-watch some shows when you’re supposed to be working? The series looks like a darkly comedic commentary on our current society, and I’m already hooked.
The show follows Murderbot as he navigates the complexities of human emotions and relationships while trying to avoid the very thing that makes him unique: his ability to feel. But don’t worry, it’s not all doom and gloom – the trailer also hints at some serious action and suspense.
From what we can see in this first look, Murderbot is shaping up to be a wild ride with plenty of humor and heart. The show seems to tackle some pretty heavy themes like existential crises, corporate espionage, and exploitation, but it all looks so delightfully absurd that I’m already on board.
The trailer also gives us our first glimpse at the series’ supporting cast, including a team of humans who are somehow aware of Murderbot’s true nature. The show seems to explore some really interesting questions about power dynamics and artificial intelligence, and I’m genuinely excited to see how it all plays out.
Murderbot is set to drop on Apple TV+ sometime in the near future – unfortunately, no release date has been announced just yet. But with this trailer dropping today, we can rest assured that the wait won’t be too much longer.
In other news, Gizmodo’s own review of Amazon’s Fire TV Cube shows that you can now get it for a limited time at an unbeatable price.
