Yahoo has quietly removed several sections and pages related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) from its corporate website in recent months. TechCrunch has learned that the company has taken down a dedicated section of its website that was previously focused on these topics.
According to our investigation, as of late 2024 and into January 2025, Yahoo removed pages related to DEI policies and initiatives. Historical snapshots of the website hosted by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine show the changes occurred during this timeframe.
A spokesperson for Yahoo confirmed the changes in a statement, citing a planned redesign of its corporate website. “We revamped our corporate website late last year as the first part of a planned, multi-phase redesign timed to CES and our Yahoo Ads relaunch,” Brenden Lee said. “The first phase reduced the total volume of content by nearly 60 percent with a focus on streamlining navigation and spotlighting our advertising and business solutions.”
This decision follows similar actions taken by other major tech companies in recent months. Some, like Google, OpenAI, and Meta, have scrubbed mentions of DEI from their websites amid ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to crack down on such initiatives.
