1,701 Pounds Of Butter Recalled Due To Possible Fecal Contamination
A significant amount of butter has been recalled due to the possibility of fecal contamination. According to a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Cabot Creamery’s parent company Agri-Mark is voluntarily recalling 186 cases or 1,701 pounds of its Extra Creamy Premium Butter, Sea Salted product.
The recall has been classified as Class III by the FDA, which means that consuming the product will “not likely cause adverse health consequences.” However, it is still important for consumers to take action and check their butter packages.
To be specific, the recalled product has a “best by” date of September 9, 2025, a lot number of 090925-055, and an item number of 2038. If your butter package matches these criteria, it is part of the recall.
You should either return or discard the affected butter to ensure food safety.
