
Crypto News: Joint Thai-Chinese Operation Freezes $2.5 Million in Cryptocurrency Tied to Scammers
Thai and Chinese authorities have successfully collaborated to freeze a massive amount of cryptocurrency assets, worth approximately $2.5 million, which is believed to be linked to two Chinese nationals accused of running scams.
According to reports, the operation was conducted jointly by Huamark Police Station and the Police Cyber Taskforce (PCT) on February 5. The suspects, Ye Wanyou (29) and Li Weijie (30), were initially caught at their luxury residence where authorities seized assets worth $44,550.
The investigation led to further collaboration with Chinese police, resulting in the discovery of hidden cryptocurrency wallets containing approximately 2.5 million USDT (Tether tokens), valued at around 84 million baht.
