UFC president Dana White and his team have made the difficult decision to part ways with veteran Brad Katona, a fighter who has made history in the organization.
As per reports, the decision was made after Katona suffered two consecutive losses in his latest fights. The first loss came against Garret Armfield in January 2024 and then he lost back-to-back fights to Jean Matsumoto and Bekzat Almakhan via first-round knockout.
While Brad Katona has been praised for his toughness, heart, and resilience, it seems that the UFC is moving away from fighters who do not bring a strong winning record.
Although I can see Katona going to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and competing on a high level for their championship at 135 or 145 pounds, it may be challenging for him to find another promotion of similar caliber given his recent performances.
