Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, has recently been the inspiration behind a sold-out musical in San Francisco. The musical is titled “Luigi: The Musical” and premiered at the 49-seat Taylor Street Theatre on June 17th.
The show, which runs for just under an hour, takes aim at tech culture, healthcare corruption, and Hollywood excess. In it, SBF is portrayed as a cellmate in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center alongside two other high-profile figures – Luigi Mangione, accused of murdering the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, facing federal sex trafficking charges.
Actor André Margatini plays SBF in the musical, bringing to life over-the-top TED Talk-style monologues. He also performs songs like Bay Area Baby, which sees SBF painting himself as a spoiled Silicon Valley elitist from Palo Alto who views legal boundaries as optional.
