Terry Luttrell of REO Speedwagon Injured in Car Accident After Falling Asleep at the Wheel
Terry Luttrell, a legendary vocalist and original member of iconic rock band REO Speedwagon, has been involved in a car accident after falling asleep at the wheel. The 78-year-old musician was driving to St. Louis for business reasons when the incident occurred.
According to reports, Luttrell had stayed up until approximately 4:30 am following the band’s one-off reunion show, which took place at State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois. It is unclear if he will require hospitalization or surgery.
As a result of the accident, the singer has suffered injuries, although their severity remains unreported. Luttrell expects to spend the next few days recovering at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
The incident marks an unfortunate turn of events for the rock icon following a tumultuous period for REO Speedwagon. The band announced its decision to cease touring and dissolve the group due to irreconcilable differences between members in September of last year.
