This Humanoid Robot Can Lift 220 Pounds But Has Super-Sensitive Skin
Neura Robotics has unveiled its third-generation humanoid robot, the 4NE-1, which boasts an astonishing 220-pound lift capacity with its legs and a remarkable super-sensitive skin that can detect near touch, actual touch, and the strength or power of that touch. This breakthrough robot is not only incredibly powerful but also extremely sensitive to human interaction.
According to CEO David Reger, having this ability to sense human touch provides an entirely new way for humans to interact with each other. The 4NE-1 will have a spray-on skin application process and will be applied on the hands, arms, and torso of the robot. This feature is critical in enabling safe and precise interactions between robots and humans in close quarters.
Neura has also announced its plan to ship 5 million robots of various types by 2030, exceeding the initial target of 100,000 units. The company aims to revolutionize the way humans and machines interact with each other.
In addition to the 4NE-1 humanoid robot, Neura has unveiled a wheeled personal assistant robot called MiPa, designed to assist elderly people in their daily lives by enabling them to age in place safely.
