Elon Musk Returns to Politics by Trolling Iran and Torching Trump’s Big Bill
For a brief moment, it seemed as though Elon Musk had retreated from the political arena. But just three weeks after his last tweet on the matter, he is back in the fray, taking aim at President Donald Trump’s flagship legislation and mocking Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Musk’s latest salvo comes as the Senate prepares to begin debate on Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill”, a sweeping piece of legislation that would make deep cuts to social programs, slash clean energy initiatives, and raise the national debt ceiling. In a series of tweets posted yesterday evening, Musk lambasted the bill, stating it will “destroy millions of jobs in America” and put the country “in the fast lane to debt slavery.”
But Musk didn’t stop there. He also took aim at Khamenei, the Ayatollah, who had issued a veiled threat against Israel following recent US-Israel military actions. In response, Musk tweeted a taunt: “Is America the Great Satan or the Greatest Satan?”
The billionaire’s return to politics comes as Trump and his allies are under pressure to pass the bill before July 4th celebrations. The president has been vocal about his desire to see the legislation signed into law by Independence Day.
Musk’s latest political intervention puts him at odds with Trump, who has yet to respond publicly.
