
Northern Lights Tonight: 14 States May See Aurora After Coronal Mass Ejection
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a geomagnetic storm watch for July 1-2, 2025, due to the expected arrival of a coronal mass ejection. This phenomenon is forecasted to trigger an aurora display in several U.S. states.
According to NOAA’s latest forecast, the Northern Lights may be visible across the following northern states: Washington, northern Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
